Kaapi Mane was a new brand which had to make its place in the commercial food and beverage sector. Mainly intending to serve IT hubs, this brand needed a distinct outlook that connected to the roots of Bengaluru’s famous “Filter Coffee”. To create this rustic look and feel reminiscent of the village coffee shops of the early days, we designated simple materials with earthy tones, motifs from village stores such as the wooden serving window and the thatch/fabric roof rested on wooden beams. We specifically focused on lighting up each outlet of Kaapi Mane slightly dimly and more sharply, to allow for these outlets to stand out among the sea of other food outlets. Fire and safety concerns were addressed as part of design despite the used of materials like cloth, wood and acrylic.
