This project would test our product design skills to the fullest. A very simple task and brief was to design and manufacture a set of furnitures that would be suitable for a building of 8 two-bedroom apartments that were to be used as full time Airbnb rentals. The challenge was to design keeping these important factors that were specific to short term rental spaces in mind : Up-to-date aesthetics, simple forms and shapes, robust structure and built, long-lasting performance, easy maintenance and relatively inexpensive to manufacture. We designed and executed full sets of furniture from modular kitchen to sofas to wardrobes and beds within a matter of few weeks. Four sets of metal colours and four sets of wood grain laminates were iterated multiple times to arrive at permutations of furnitures. The furniture till date look great, are sturdy, provide comfort and cost barely anything to maintain. We also involved in enhancing the over all look and feel of the indoor space via advising on colours themes, lighting patterns etc…
